Burnt Rancheria Campground - Cleveland National Forest

2009_07_09

I was really excited to checkout this campground in the Cleveland National Forest because of its access to the Pacific Crest Trail. The campsite was just OK since the "fully shaded" spot turned out to be without any shade at all. The main problem with the campsite is that it was totally crowded with a form of low-life campsite urchin. These folks do nothing all day but sit in their lawn chairs drinking the cheapest swill while staring at their neighbors. If that wasn't bad enough, these animals bring their dogs with them and convey no authority over the mutts. The barking of dogs was constant. I left Saturday afternoon rather than spend another night in the wooded ghetto. The pluses were few - the woodpeckers in the morning were a wonderful sight as was the abandonded Air Force barracks. The roads were awesome as well. More later.
