I felt a deep urge to get out of town and go do something over the holiday so I suggested to Han that we go to the Grand Canyon. We left Thursday after work and spent the night in Kingman, AZ. at a Motel 6 near the train tracks. The next morning we woke up and had breakfast at IHOP where our waitress suggested we go down Route66 to the Grand Canyon Caverns. We took her suggestion to drive Rt. 66 but didn't stop at the Caverns since it we wanted to get to the big hole in the ground. Along the way, we stopped for a photo under a Burma-Shave sign as well as the Planes of Fame museaum which was closed for the holiday. Luckily the Eagle outside was happy to entertain us. The finally got to the park and walked around a bit, had lunch at the Bright Angel Lodge, and then waited around to watch the sun set. Shortly after dark, a long legged, big eared dog walked right by me quiet as a ghost. We spent the evening at a bar across the street from our hotel watching football, drinking beer, and eating wings. I introduced Han to Maker's Mark too :D
