For the past few years, members of the ADV Rider site throw a rally in Death Valley National Park. I got up early Friday morning and hit the road to meet Ben and Jo at the McDonald's in Phelan, CA since it was far enough away from civilization and close enough to find. We ran into another rider named Mark who decided to cruise up with us. The four of us hit the road and Mark split off to go see the Trona Pinicles while the rest of us continued to Trona for gas and lunch. From there, we decided to check out the Charcoal Kilns in Wildrose Canyon which was my first taste of dirt for the trip. While at the Kilns, Jo and Ben's bikes decided to take a nap so we had to wrestle them up (haha). After killing some time at the Kilns, we rode onto the camp at Panamint Springs. I wish we had gone to see Ballarat. Maybe next time.
