Silverwood Lake SRA

2010_05_23

Ben, Robert, and I rode up Cleghorn Fire Road to Silverwood lake. Along the way I took a detour when I lost track of the other two and ended up on a steep jeep track and dropped the KLR trying to turn it around dislodging the chain in the process. Once we got that fixed, we decided to go down the Jeep track since "We were already committed" LOL. Ben had to ride my bike down for me. At the end of Cleghorn, Rob's BMW caught a rock to the oil cooler and lost a significant amount of coolant. Luckily Ben had some Qucksteel and patched it up. Shortly thereafter we had to stop to refill the F800's radiator which was kind of neat because I got to see the excellent German engineering that's under the bike's bodywork. Once filled, the F800 kept her cool but started falling asleep in the muddy sections. Robert had the right attitude and kept on trucking and smiling. We ended the ride at a restaurant called Logan's Roadhouse in Fontana where I tossed peanut shells on the floor while drinking a Newcastle and devouring a pepperjack cheeseburger. NOM!
